Sublimation vs Screen Printing for Team Jerseys: Which Should You Choose?

Choosing the right decoration method affects the look, durability and cost of your team uniforms. Here is how dye-sublimation and screen printing compare for soccer, basketball and baseball jerseys.

Dye-sublimation

The design is printed onto transfer paper and heat-pressed into polyester fabric. Colours are unlimited, all-over patterns are possible, and the print never cracks or peels because it becomes part of the fibre. Best for full-colour jerseys, gradients and sponsor-heavy kits.

Screen printing

Ink is pushed through a mesh screen, one colour at a time. Ideal for cotton hoodies and simple logos in 1–3 colours, with a thicker, tactile finish. Set-up costs make it less economical for small runs with many colours.
